Fitting SC80-LR Plug and Play and FPC Kit

Hello to everyone. I thought I had better introduce myself and ask a question before my 365 days are up. I have a D3 2.7HSE which is my pride and joy. I bought it to tow my van which it does with ease. It also pulls trees out of the ground with equal ease. I need some guidance and I hope some members could help out
Can anyone recommend an auto electrician who can fit the Traxide SC 80+FPC kit. Drivesafe’s fitting instructions are very clear as is the CD, but the confidence to do the job is lacking at my end. I live in the north east of Melbourne. I bought the kit about 18 months ago but I’m still looking at it in its box.I really need to bite the bullet and have it fitted as it will enable me to charge up the van batteries whilst moving, but I need to know the person doing the job knows his business.

Hi BONZER,

Like you I was far from confident about tinkering with my pride and joy and let my Traxide kit in the box for some weeks whilst working up the courage to press the GO button and install it.

After finally working myself up to do it, I can confirm that all the installation takes is the ability to read the instructions and at most 2.5hrs (I'm sure this would be about 1hr for any other AULRO-er!).

One tip I would pass on though would be to put some WD40 on the wire/cable before trying to push it into the recess running along the inside of the doorstep from front to back - the cable is a very snug fit but the WD40 removes much of the effort and most of the bad language out of the install (I reckon that this tip would have saved me at least 20 mins).

Seriously, have a crack at it. There's no cutting of any of your D3's electrical wires at all - the worst that can happen is that you get part way through it and then decide to have an auto elec take over.

It has to be the best, and easiest to install, dual battery package ever.

Thanks for that CaverD3 (got it right this time) You and Ricco have made me feel very welcome and both of you have been so encouraging I am going to have a crack at fiitng the system. Once again guys, thanks heaps. I'll post when i'm done.

Hi BONZER, while fitting the kit, if you have any problems, just phone me or post up on here, you’ll be guided through any problems.

Honestly BONZER, I have never come across and easier vehicle, 4x4 or car, to wire up like a D3/4.

Just give yourself a good Saturday arvo so you can take your time.
