It costs the same amount of money to make a stylish body as it does to make an ugly one so why make it ugly.I wonder what they did to the original panels?. Pat

G'day All, They obviously couldn't find/buy a Volvo 'Sugga' so they have made one, or near enough to look like one cheers Dennis

maybe a good use for a rollover or water damaged defender from recent times?

looking at the SUGGAs on internet theres one for sale for $65K canadian at the moment, theyre a 1950-60s vehicle from swedish (?) army

waste of a sugga, waste of a defender...

but at least its outy doing something?

It looks like the door pillars & hinges are original. I wonder if its the original windscreen with a trim ?

Correct. It is an old Swedish army veichle from the 50s. Misc info: sugga is Swedish for pig sow.

Oh I don't know really...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...which makes me wonder - people should get their eyes checked more often...

I reckon the body is largely intact from the firewall to the C pillar - I'd say the roof and rear quarter panels removed, bonnet and front guards removed, new front, rear and roof and fibreglass panels added OVER the windscreen frame and doors. No Suggas were harmed in its construction.

I reckon the last two photos in MickS's collection are hillarious. That last one has to be the greatest ****-take ever.

I saw one of these Red Bull abominations in Margaret River on the last long weekend. The Land Rover mudflaps caught my attention first then I noticed the rear chassis cross member is the same as my Defender.
Im told the jerry cans on the sides are actually loud speakers?

We had one of these on the roads and on Red Bull events two years ego, you can see from the second pictures that the original dashboard was kept.

The result is a failed exercise.

The Sugga body is Volvo's take on the 1936 Ford V8 sedan with a militarised front end as a staff/command car, more hospitable than a Dodge Command Car and warmer too,;) worked well in the post WW11 era Europe.

There is at least one of these in Australia.
