View Full Version : Buying a D3

I think I've found a D3 that suits me.
After searching the forums I still have a few questions for the lucky owners out there who already have one...

1. During the test drive, it tended to shift down into first with a slight jolt when coming to a stop (no bangs, clunks or looseness, best description would be like when you manually selected 1st in an old auto box too soon) Is this common?

2. What 'problems' should I specifically ask the mechanic to check on a 07 D3?

3. Am I right in thinking that the 2007 model onwards have most the bugs (electric or otherwise) ironed out?

4. Any other advice will be gladly received;)

I didn't ask, but I don't think so

V6, D8 or TDV6? S, SE or HSE?

1) Yes.
2) None. Just check that all the factory updates have been carried out.
3) There we a couple of things fixed in the update but nothing major.

1) Yes.

It is interesting you say that White D3, I was going to respond in the negative to this question. Mine rather annoyingly hangs onto second when coming to a stop and only shifts down to 1st when booted from a standstill or when, on take off, it realises I am on a hill.

County3.9 this may be what you are describing, but mine certainly doesn't change down to first as I come to a stop.

This could all be explained by the fact that it is an intelligent box.

As WhiteD3 asked, give us a few more details and the advice will abound! :D

when a woman asks does this suit me, she is usually referring to the age old question does my bum look fat in it

when a man asks does a D3 suit me it means will the wife allow me to buy a new toy and is it goign to cost me a lot of money to keep it on the road

same question different meanings

Hi County 3.9,
Has this one got a lot of klms, used off road, accessorised or basic, country or town car, service history, all questions to check yourself prior to buying. Most importantly is the price right, the model you have picked in my opinion is a good model.
