just received this...

might be something some of the locals would be interested in supporting..

The IGA Sunshine Coast Car Rally is happening on Sunday 29 August 2010 to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland. By registering and participating you will help the Foundation’s ongoing work providing accommodation, transport, and support for patients undergoing treatment.

The rally is not a race, but a fun and leisurely day out requiring participants to work their way through questions, quizzes, clues, and checkpoints. It starts from the University of the Sunshine Coast at Sippy Downs with registrations open from 7am. For a gold coin donation, you can enjoy a cooked breakfast before the rally starts.

The theme for the 2010 rally is “super heroes”, so participants can get into the spirit by dressing up or decorating their cars and be in the running for some great prizes.

The IGA Sunshine Coast Car Rally ends at the Apollonian Hotel at Boreen Point for lunch and the presentation of prizes including:

·Incentive Prizes
·Highest Fundraiser Award
·Car Rally Winner
·Best Dressed Car/Team Award

To participate, simply complete the enclosed registration form and return it to the address detailed on the form. Your registration fee is a minimum of $50 for each vehicle which includes your morning tea and lunch.

Participants raise money by seeking sponsorship from their family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and business associates. Your company or organisation may also consider matching funds raised by your staff on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Many companies have found this to be a very successful concept and greatly appreciated and supported by their staff.

The IGA Sunshine Coast Car Rally is a chance for to have fun while helping to make a real difference to the lives of patients and families supported by the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland.

The Foundation receives no ongoing government funding and relies on the generosity of individuals and corporate supporters to continue its work helping people with leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anaemia, amyloidosis and related blood disorders. It also funds vital medical research into better treatments and hopefully a cure.
