The HoHars are legends :BigThumb: - not only do they help me restore my sweet S1, but they come over and help me bleed the brakes to turn it from Garden ornament to motor vehicle, par exellence....
Just been out and about in her - it's all good - 100% sorted - just love it. Happy Days! :clap2:
Some pics of her back from her Ippy cruise....

It was our pleasure:D

I can say that the brakes work well now as I followed matilda around in zara ;)
It also felt great when that 110 puma took a double take of matilda and
zara driving down the road and gave the bigest wave:D:D

And my thanks again.
Yes - the brakes are perfect - no pull to the left or right on the old emergency stop - and she does stop - but then also rolls when the foot comes off the pedal - sweeeeet. :D
The poor fella in the Puma had that look on his face - jeeeezus - a Series 1 :D Whatda I do? Wave - wait to be waived too? I could see his predicament and gave him a big smile and wave - he loved it - judging by his expression and the vigour of his reciprocal wave! Reckon he almost drove off Blackall Street when Zara came by behind me. :D
Great news!:D

Yes - I've just got back from another "test drive"! :D Couldn't beleive it - coppers behind me on my final run into town - but they just took a long look and kept going.
BUT - the dust remains - kind of like it. HEy - who am I kiddin' - that truck will be glowing with polish by Sunday at 11.00AM!
The vehicle is definitely all good now - brakes working beautifully. No fluid loss at any slave cylinder - or master. So guys - please - when you change your wheel bearings, make sure you put the right backing plate on the right half axle! ;)

HEy chaps - More than anything, I'd really like to thank everyone who has given me advice, offered encouragement, as well as actually been on hand to help get Matilda to where she is today. A 1956 truck needs a whole lot of TLC! :) And she has had it in spades. ;)
So - thanks to everyone - if I miss someone, my most humblest apologies...

You have all contributed (more than you might realise) - from discussing my red clogs, to formal mech advise - it's all helped in keeping a very old Land Rover going - isn't that great? :clap2: I am blessed to have your help - thank you all.

Right! :D I won't - promise. But Leon is the inspiration! Just perfect as is. Patina. ;)
And come Sunday, they will be best of friends. But just remember Perry - Leon is resting at the Hars. If I can persuade Harry to paint Matilda, I'm sure we can line up Leon for the treatment too.;) Maybe, hey Mr. Har

Fantastic news Dan ! :D
Unfortunately won't see her on Sunday but now she will be there for the next series run won't she? That should be a lot of fun.

Hi there Well done buddy - there is nothing like driving down the road in a series one.

The smell of oil, excessive engine noise, ratteling alloy body work and every possible orifice wihin the canvas tilt is belting you with air.

As for myself - winter is almost over in the Flinders Rangers so just waiting for the day I can get mine out of the shed for a drive without getting wet of freezing (must be an age thing as it never used to bother me).

As a few of you would know the wife uses the 1954 "86" to feed the horses. She will not drive it iwhen the soft top is fitted, and many time I have seen it raining and always the winscreen laying down on the spare tyre on the bonetts and the occupants rugged up like ekimos ............. but its great to watch.

Enjoy
