After my swiftest car repair ever - 25 mins. Down to shop buy the right battery, first time in three Land Rovers, come home install battery, car starts first hit after two months.
I decided that just because we have no first gear was no obstacle for an Isuzu Landy.
U-turns on the other hand, are. Somehow I forgot that the 110 will make a u-turn in my street in one go, where the 130 wouldn't. So I went to reverse for the second bite. And stopped. No forward, no backward, no gears, no go, lots of smoky clutch, and obstructing just a little bit of traffic. Oh, of course, once off the weight it fell out of gear nicely.
Fortunately it was a slow traffic day, and only half an hour later or so a towie arrived and skull-dragged it out of the middle of the road. Now I'm just debating if I can get it around the corner and launch it up the jump into the back yard - One of the CV joints on the 130 exploded last time we got air getting into the back yard.
But I'm thinking the Isuzu might not be capable enough to get by without first gear and locking up at random.
Of course, I could have sorted this myself if I had a rear-mounted winch.
And I wouldn't have to change the gearbox.
And that's what I'm telling Rilka now that my credit card is back in the black.:D
