It didnt charge mine. I use the Aux port in the cubby box with a apple white cable into the headset jack of the Iphone and use a separate car charger. This is instead of the integrated radio frequency cable that is connected.

My way is more reliable ( ie on ling trips the frequency sometimes has interfernce) and the controls are much easier onthe actual Iphone / ipod.

The simple answer is "No".

Just double-checked mine "iPhone 3G 16GB" (Not 3GS or iPhone4). Changing not supported, phone calls are not relayed through the stereo. iTunes played through the stereo like a normal iPod.

Relocated my iPod jack a couple of months ago, from the passenger side to the drives side and all the 'iPod jack' is an attachment that connects between the antenna input on the rear of the stereo and the antenna cable itself. Power is supplied from the auxiliary power circuit.

Bought and fitted a simular device to my daughters car, Strathfield’s $150.

Cheers
Craig

If you get the Tom Tom cradle (apple store - similar $$$ if I recall) it not only charges but also boosts the GPS signal and even has a modest speaker built in. Then add the Tom Tom software if you don't already have it ($99 from itunes) and you're away with added GPS...

Thanks all.
After following the iPhone thread, and having a phone newly out of contract, I am itching to get one. I had hoped to be able to use existing available hardware. Will make another plan.
