I've started a new thread on this one because it has been extended in quite a different and simple way to the other extended cab threads
This ute started life in 1988 as a trayback and was purchased with low ks & in good nick, however it had the usual limitations of the single cab ute seating position.
As you can see from the pics, the method of extending the cab to fit a 109" tub including using the B pillars from a lwb station wagon.
The resulting extracab space is the expected 10".
The gas tank is for the dieselgas installation
The tub has yet to have the fuel filler for the rear mounted tank installed & the guards are yet to receive their trim & flares
The truss framework you can see ties the tub to the cab

thanks Steve,
it's mechanically & electrically all there now, goes very well
but there's a few issues to iron out like the rear guard cut and the installation for flares - suggestions for type/make of flare would be appreciated.
the new filler for the rear tank has been fitted and it is planned to use the original fuel tank filler location for the water tank filling point
still haven't got around the opening glass on the sides - maybe something like an '80s-90s navara king (extra) cab rear side window perhaps - again suggestions appreciated

Nice work:)
How you planning on infilling the centre section?
I was lucky? on my roof as it was so rooted and full of filler already, rivetting and sikaflexing it together, then glass and filler wasn't a concern:D

the infill is still in "planning" :) .. here are a couple of alternatives
.....obtain opening glass (see my earlier post) for the top and use from stock we do have some series doors and rear tub sections from which we can obtain the "hip" bulge shape for the lower part -
.....use the forward 8" of a series door as the hinge bases are still in the "B" pillars that we fitted, and have fixed upper glass
still also on the "to do" list are the rear guard cutaways and flares - (polite) suggestions welcome

Why not flares from flatdog?
Be interested to see what you do, rolling the alloy sheet over mine was no probs to get the "bulge"

Is it an optical illusion or could the tub go further back to get the wheel to sit in the centre of the wheel arch?

perhaps, but we have chosen to match the end of the tub with the rear of the rear cross-member (as per std LR hardtop & tub ), as the cross member is intended to be used for additional purposes (jerry can holders, swing away spare)
