I was having a look at the benefits for Aged pensioners from the NSW Government and registration of one car is free. my wife became eligible in July .
Simultaneously received my rego renewal for the Rangie $439 for 12 months. Hmmmm.
How much to transfer to my wifes name?
Answer $88 based on $2000 value and 3% stamp duty and $28 transfer fee. CTP the same according to MAA site.
So down to the RTA this morning and deed done. First time I haven't owned a car since I was 17.

Good work Philip. Now that it's her car, does she have to pay for it's upkeep?
:).

hi philip,
what's your train of thought on which cam you'll go for? once i have the thor manifold put on and fixed up the leaking injectors i will have a stable platform to measure back against the previous cam then update my thread i had going with the results. obviously the thor manifold will impact but i did enough driving beforehand to know the cam change was for the better. (a wade 328B but it is in a 4.6). i don't drive with a leadfoot though there was a post on here with people posting their 0-80 times and so i gave it a go with the old cam and i couldn't get under 10 seconds. i tried it again with the new cam and was in the range of mid 7's to low 8's so it gave me some peace of mind that getting rid of the dynotec 216 was a move in the right direction. (this was foot to the floor and sure made the motor scream so not a good way to treat the motor and certainly not my normal method of driving).
i saw you respond to a post with someone who had put a number of wade cams in over the years and was getting excellent fuel economy. i can't recall whether it was for 3.5 or 3.9 motors but it certainly was impressive economy.

I am still thinking about it.
The two contenders at the moment are Iskenderian 621256 or The Wade 259a.

Is that just the Rego or compulsary third party as well.
in Vic our rego is about $560 for the disco, the rego is only a small part the rest is the compulsary/mandatory third party insurance. ( not to be confused with the accident damage insurance which is optional.
NSW does it different how they do it. .

Rego Break down for RRC in NSW
Registration $439.00
CTP Green Slip $451.0
Pink Slip $50.00 for RRC on Dual Fuel.
I don't know how much it is in QLD but can't be far from the above total figure?????

We put the disco V8 in my wifes name when we bought it, then as soon as Centrelink declared her a pensioner, we went to Qld Transport, did the paperwork and paid the pensioner rate.

The $439 in NSW is the registration and vehicle tax fee.
The CTP in NSW depends on your postcode and other things such as licence points etc , but to me is $315 via NRMA.
Pink Slip inspection is $30.
Total is therefore to me $784 which will drop to $345.
In Sydney they pay much more CTP as Khos shows.

That was one big advantage when the missus was on a parenting pension as she was a stay at home mum, she got bugger all in payments because of what I earned but the free rego and other discounts helped out heaps.
