Hi All, I'm a little bit worried, the landy has a definite rattle when cold, more so than it used to have., Still the same when hot, just wondering where this is heading, or should i just shrug it off as a landy thing, could be the same in another ten yrs, Have changed to 20w/50 engine oil.
Cheers Sumo:D

Guessing noises without further info is a mug's game. At what phase of operation do you hear the noise? Under load? At idle? At over-run? Find a suitable mechanic to have a listen.

20W-50 isn't necessary.... :(
Listen to bee utey.
FWIW big end clearances blowing out on a Tdi is a distinctive knock (more a bddddd :o) at high revs on the overrun and a more subdued knock (bddddd) at revs under power.
When mine were trashed that was the only time they could be heard.
