BlackBetty is now centre mufflerless.
A new centre pipe, muffler shop done is now in place.
Its a fair bit louder than I expected, quite a strong growl under load.
Combined with the new clutch that now engages off the floor instead of 3/4 out the turbo lag is nicely reduced.Sounds good in traffic, isnt too bad at highway speeds.

No couldnt describe it like that Pedro.
The Growl matches its V8 eating performace:p:p:p:p
More like she has just swalloed a V8 than a dull fart;);););)

I would have the sweet turbo whistle at idle over the growl of a v8 any day.

Didnt really make any sound difference to the deefer Andy... but then it is a deefer! I think it made it go better a little tho.. just that when the turbo kicks in it seems to do it more harshly.. which can be fun....
You'll have to let me know how the intercooler goes too...
and will get round to the provent soon..... but not in time for the group buy!

Growl?
:Rolling::Rolling:
Yep Growl.... A deep solid throat clearing growl...
Anyone with a open bore exhaust on a powerful diesel knows the sound well...
After all... The V8 is only 500cc per piston just like the TD5.
But the TD5 is producing a stronger bang per stroke :p

I don't mind the sound of the TD5 with an open system (as in no mufflers) but I have only done it by taking off the exhaust before the centre muffler. It makes it a little bit ****ty sounding, i reckon it would sound alot better if it were straight through right through... give it more of a deeper smoother noise rather than the sorta half high pitched noise it produces ending before the centre.
Have you got any video andy of yours how it is? Would be interesting to hear what it's like.
Cheers,
Shamo
