Alternate Mounting Options for TigerZ Control Box ?

Folks,

thinking that I want to mount the control box for my new TigerZ12 winch either in the cabin, or under the bonnet and have a switch inside the cabin.

Whats involved with this ?

Is this a simple Job for an auto elec....spoke them breifly car is booked in on Thursday at Auto Electrician to do;

Winch fit up which they said they can do and mount control box in cabin or under bonnet.
Dual Battery's (just going to go with simple Red Arc System, I dont think I need some of the flash stuff you guys have, just need to run fridge, work light and winch)
re do aux diesel tank switch to inside cabin
Work light over tray
some points for fridge etc.
Possibly hard wire my Black Max compressor ?

On my winch challenge 90 I had the winch control box under the wing top behind the head light. Lots of space behind there and keeps them dry and out of the mud

Then had the winch controlled in the cab . It was a simple rocker switch which was on the steering column in the hole which used to be where land rover put the choke cable. Easy to do. I also put the plug to the original lead and control on the front Wing by the head light. So if had to or wanted to use the old style controller I could

Very easy job, just a matter of mounting the box, extending the big wires, 2 fields and armature and little control cable to the switch

Update folks;

auto elec will mount control box under bonnet............tight fit in a PUMA....just been told they are looking at mounting it in with the 2nd battery under passenger seat or possibly under drivers seat, they feel it will be easier to install there !

it will have an isolation switch under the bonnet to switch juice supply off when not required , and the plug for the handheld extended and run out to the front of the car.

I will also have an in and out switch mounted inside the cabin.....essentialy moving the position of the red in/out switch on the control box to inside the cabin.....theywere doing dual batteries etc. so thought may as well go for mounting the whinch how I'd ideally like it. Control box out of the weather/mud and able to operate from inside the cabin.................not sure if I fully trust the wireless remotes etc.

Apparently all pretty simple stuff for an auto electrician.

My experience of the wireless remote on a tigerz has been great.
Great when recovering can move around checking lines etc etc or in and driving then jump out to check... really great when chopping fallen trees can have lotsa rope and chain out loaded up and keep snigging the log as you cut to keep it in line.

In near 2 years and countless uses I am yet to NOT use the wireless.

Couldnt go back. Cant see the point of switches in the cab, if the wireless dies Ill just buy another? I do keep the wired in the ute for justincase.

I find my wireless remote not very sensitive, i.e. when I tap the button, the winch turns much longer than I press the button (if that makes sense).

There is a slight delay with mine, but no more than a second. with practice you can allow for it.

Ok due to wireless they have mounted box under left wing, then they have moved switch that makes it go from wired hand piece to wireless into cabin..... They have put a turn key type iso switch on a bracket under bonnet which they did not need to do as it has isolation switch already..... Unless they scrapped all original wires and ran all new stuff given distance from batteries to engine bay out to whinch. They have extended the plug for the wired hand piece out to front if car. So in cabin switch is only to choose between wireless and wired operation.
