whats this and what do i do with it

so i've been meaning to post this for ages..

but to lazy to takes pictures...

its in my d1.. i dont know what it is or what i do with it.. or if i even care.. or is it just taking my battery power being a nuisance..

now the box (something) is attached to the bottom plug, which sits at the back end of my disco near the tow ball.. attached by about a 10mm wire..

i guess i should have typed the word projecta into google first...


so the plug at the back of the disco, plugs into an aux battery in a caravan?

if the above is correct, could i rewire it to sit an aux battery infront of the air filter?
