Hi guys and gals, I thought I would share a couple of pics of my weekend out a couple of weeks back. I recently moved to the UK and before I moved we had one last weekend trip to my grand parents farm in the Bunya mts, before it was sold. We have an old original 58 series 2 with series 1 running gear that lives in the paddock and for my last trip there I had to get it going. It had not been started in over 2 years so the brakes were non existent, the fuel was foul and the radiator was dry, so I managed to dig around the shed and found a new brake master cylinder and some brake fluid. Also I found a fuel filter and installed it. I drained the fuel, topped up the oil and filled the water, then I attempted to jump start it. Well the ignition started but it would not kick over. So I checked the wiring to the starter motor and found the starter motor button to the starter motor cable was broken, so I took it out and soldiered it up and gave it a go again.
To be honest it started first time with no choke, but it ran rough as guts. I let it idle for about 5 mins and it came good.
So then I took it up the paddock to tackle some hills. I could not believe how well it went, it climbed the hills with ease and did not even look like stopping.
Now the farm is sold I have organised for Ralph (the landy) to get taken to a friends place until I get back.
My brother owns the gray series 2a in the photos.
