Hey everyone,

When i rebuilt the 2A i replaced both front and rear springs.

Basically should i keep the old springs?
They are pretty rusty and fairly flat and one still has a bolt frozen in place...

Not that im planning on selling them YET, but would they be worth anything?

To some extent it depends on what shape they are in, but in many cases old springs can be disassembled, cleaned up, reassembled and reset. And the original front springs and swb rear springs have the advantage that the thickness material used in the leaves cannot be matched today, so that in these cases the springs cannot be exactly duplicated. This is important mainly for those trying to do an exact restoration, although there are some advantages in the larger number of thinner leaves.

Don't know if this has answered your question, as it still comes back to what shape they are in.

Thanks John.

The leaves are (on the back springs) separating and really flat. The new springs in the back raised the car almost 5 inches. But the front springs are in much better condition.

Ill post some pictures up tomorrow.

They have been useful sitting in the back of the car to settle in the new springs though! :p
