Opinions?

Based on an earlier post Im considering just getting my own steering guard tube made up as its gonna cost a hell of a lot less than the $275 for a steering/sump guard but also from reading other forums doesnt act like a ground anchor if you have to be pulled out backwards.

What do you guys think?

doesnt act like a ground anchor if you have to be pulled out backwards.

My steering guard was full of mud after a backwards recovery on the weekend. However, the guard is higher than the diff (pumpkin and axle tubes), so in most cases the diff would be the limiting factor and should push a lot the dirt out of the way in the first place.
