Hiya,

I have a Chinese 6" GPS running Win CE 6.0. When I plugged it in to any PC (I've tried two Vista and one XP machine) I get a "USB not recognised" error on the PC.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I would be looking for a driver for the USB device. Just gone through this same exercise with a USB to IR cable a few weeks ago at work.

Thanks Derek.

Assuming I find one, how do you install/load it in CE?

Cheers.

You would load it on to XP or Vista. As for CE that can be a pain to find things for. I would expect the device to have a driver built in for its comms (USB) port though.

Best bet would be spending the rest of today searching in Google. What is the actual GPS device, make, model etc?

eeerrr.......so do I:eek:

The words Chinese, cheap, GPS and Ebay spell trouble me thinks. I have emailed the Ebay seller but he's away in China for 2 weeks.

What information can you tell me about then? Any link to another similar unit for sale even might help?

Thanks Derek. This one, from the same seller, appears to be identical.

Looking into this I suspect you need something like ActiveSync to transfer between the two (GPS & PC). Can't find anything on the GPS which comes as no surprise.

What are you trying to do with the device? Can you use the SD card for this?

Thanks Derek. I'm using OziCE and the SD card to get the maps, tracks, WPs
and custom screens on and off.

Normally you would not use activesync, just plug the card into a laptop/desktop and transfer stuff etc.
