Hi all...

Probably been asked before, but is there an aftermarket cd changer to replace the generic eurovox 6cd one, plug and play, no muss no fuss?
cheers

These commonly pack up - uusually due to water crossings.
They do occassionally come up on e-bay but quite frankly, for the price you'd pay, you'd be better off changing the whole radio out for a more modern one.
Put new speakers in as well.
Makes a huge difference.

There are quite a few different changers fitted to various models, which model Eurovox do you need?

I'm looking for a connecting cable for my Eurovox Model 1060 changer at present.

Give Bundalene (Erich) a PM he may have what you need.

The 6 stacker is normally a 1060 model.

Try Go Technologies in Melbourne. They handle the parts & service for Eurovox units these days. Repairs aren't all that expensive most times.
Are any fault codes showing on the radio?

The stacker cables are LR specifc, at least they used to be. GT should be able to supply these or you can go to an agent/LR dealer who can order one in.

When I worked in car audio back around the Disco1/Disco2 changeover we made adapter cables to go between various factory head units and aftermarket stackers.

From memory the Eurovox headunits connected to Kenwood stackers? Maybe it was Sony.
Whichever one was the same as the Denon I think. Maybe it was all three!

Most of the time the plug was the same but they reversed some wires but in the Eurovox case they used an entirely different plug.

Thanks, I've tried them - they want $77 plus $13 shipping for a new cable !

Try calling TRS in adelaide.
They have plenty of stackers on their shelf, well they did when I was there.
Drive shafts too.
I agree with Waynep actually whose car I incidentally bought.
I put all new head unit(Alpine) with blutooth and focal speakers with splits in the front in.
And believe me, its like black and white.
Cost around $1500 but I am sure other combination will do.I am just a bit fussy in that area. Also, CD's are pretty much a thing of the past, get one with I-pod dock and you be laughing.;)

They certainly are in an automotive situation.

The only reason I have a cd in my cd player is because I ejected it out of the old head unit when I fitted the new head unit, then had no case to put it into! Straight into the new head unit and I think it has been played once in a year.

CD stackers are sadly a thing of the past. Go with a new head unit that can do mp3 discs and if you get one with an aux connection an ipod will keep you going for hours.
