Thought I should share my exitement with you all...
After not overly much looking around, and a few trials in the camera shops of different models (quickly discounted Canon, they just didn't feel right when directly comparing against Nikon), I decided on a D90.
Unfortunately not in a position for a you beaut lens straight up, but of the kit options, I felt the 18-55 and 55-200 option just didn't seem to be great quality and thought I'd regret it. So ended up going the AF-S 18-105mm VR Lens as I felt it was of better quality, hopefully backed up by the fact it was about the same price as if I'd got the twin lens kit - and for the moment I can't see me needing a lens of more than 105mm (well, ~160mm really with crop factor).
So... did I choose well?
Got it through DWI as recommended by quite a few on here. I know it's a grey import, and I'd love to support the local bloke, but at a difference of over $600, the choice isn't so hard. Even less hard when the manager of one of the larger camera franchises told me I'd be better off going online, save the money and if anything goes worng and can't be claimed under 'warranty', the saving will pay for it anyway.
