Slow GPS

I have one of THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320433605161) 7" GPS and it is very slow to get the position when boot.
Is there any member aware in how I can improve the speed?
My old Logic Gear 488 was very fast, only 5 seconds.

Also the volume it is to low for the Defender Tdi.
Do I have to install a separated speaker?

The specs say it has an FM transmitter, so you should be able to do what I do with my "Ranga Special" in the Defender.

Switch on the FM transmitter, tune to a frequency away from available radio stations and tune the car radio to that frequency.

It also lets you play music from your SD card on the car radio.
