Hi folks.
Has anyone made a bin that can be strapped to the spare tyre on the back door of their car?
Something like the Michelle's Sacs or Bushranger bins.
I was thinking even a 20 litre screw top drum. last trip to the beach saw salt water and sand drip into my amplifier so even though I managed to clean and fix it, I'd prefer to keep the wet sandy stuff out of the car.
Thanks.

I don't know of any 'hard' bins but I do own a 'Black Widow' wheel bin bag that works great for me for rubbish etc
It also keeps wet and sandy gear away from delicate equipment and can be flushed out after use.
You can fix it on and drive with it so it's a great investment. Check it out at -

There is also a few other brands on the market and I'm sure you could use the search feature on this site - Cheers ;)

Thanks hadn't seen that one.
It doesn't have to be a hard body design. However if I was going to make one myself it would be due to me not being up to making any other sort.
This is the new MSA one which looks like it has a hard inner

The MSA bag which looks like the bin with a pocket on either side.

You can still buy the old MSA bin for a reduced price too.

I have one on mine. Its is one from Supercrap, but is less than half the price of some of the others and seems ok so far.

I make them from ally mesh like in screen door or roof rack floors maby if my brother sees this thread he may post a pic of the one i made for him (hopefully before he backed it into a tree) :D.
My old man and me made a fold up one one for the same mesh for his 80 and when not in use it flat packs

After seeing the size of these things I'll definately be making my own as they don't hold much. I want to get the kiddy beach toys and stuff out of the car and these wouldn't do it.
