I cant be held responsible, its an addiction issue... so, as a result I just put an order in to DWI for a new D300s

Timaus13 was lucky enough to bag my D80 at a very good price, and im happy its gone to a very good home!

Now the wait... :(

PS: Did I tell you its not my fault?

Mmmm 300mm... and I already have a 1.7xTC

I'm going to seriously look at the D7000 for a replacement of my D200. Waiting to hear what the spec's really end up being. I think if it is high ISO it will compliment the D3s very nicely and be small enough that SWMBO will use it. D3s isn't really small in any way.

Let me know if/when you wanna off-load the D200.

Mine is sitting on the shelf with a cracked body and cost too much to fix.

Does this give you a push to upgrade.;)

Well...my D200 is 3 years old as it is as good or better than a D90 and I cannot see any reason why my D300s will be not an awesome machine in 2013 or beyond;)
Is not me that is planning abouth the D400 is Nikon :)

D7000 announced?

Won't be able to get it till probably mid to late october though.

Might not be too late stooge, though a month without a camera would suck.

Dual SD slots, alloy body, weather sealed like the D300s... I think if these are the spec's it's more than a replacement of the D90 and a big move towards the D300s. Definitely not a toy.

Strangely Canon did the exact opposite with the EOS60D and made it a "cheaper" body

Give me CF cards any time before the SDs.
I do not believe that Nikon is going to "kill" the D300s at this stage, it is a pro camera on the crop models.

This release of new models every 6 months reminds me the PC boom after the Z80 when people just wait for the new model and never have a new PC waiting for the super system.

The D300s with good collection of glass will be a weapon for the next 4 or 5 years ;)

I wonder how much it will be? I've resigned myself to swap platforms and was slowly saving for a D300s. Perhaps the D400 would be out by the time I saved enough!!

But the D7000 looks like it would fit the bill if it is about D90 pricing :-)

Hey, did anyone hear that the secure freight on its way to tassie from the "north island" has all been water damaged??

They reckon salt water got into packages, post, freight and all sorts of stuff.... would be shocking to know that electrical item or maybe...camera... had been swamped by seawater!!!:twisted:

hope that helps pass the days easily!!:D

I am super impressed with this camera! I have taken numerous shots to try out the features, including ISO 3200 which resulted in a very good photo with no noise reduction in camera or on Capture NX2. You can see noise in boke and dark areas of the photo, but still great for 3200!
