Hi Guys

Was wondering if any one has built a frame for the back of ther 130 tub.
I am looking at setting up a roof top tent on the rear and would be interested hearing if any one has done the same sort of thing.

I built one for the 130 last year for the desert trip, also using it for our Hay River run, leaving Friday. Wanted something not too heavy, nothing above roof height, for windage and C.O.G. It's worked out to be very handy, roof panel is aluminium, helping keep sun off the fridge. I needed a way to store the OZ Tent without putting it on the roof. Only problem is I'll have to make another as I'm thinking of putting a tray on her next year.

Maybe stoneage man shouldn't try to work computers, couldn't get a photo to stick to that post! Oh I see the photo is already on the site in my trip thread "2stroke in the desert" in Multi state reports, sorry I can't include it in this post. If you're interested in seeing a photo of it you can see it there.

Uprights are 50x25 3mm wall, top ones are also 50x25 but 2.4 on the cross rails and 1.6 on the lengthwise ones. Some 20x20 x1.6 for the shelf parts and a sheet of mesh. I don't really use the ally roof at present, only occasionally for firewood. Oh I made it my self wasn't too hard.

You could use a long wheelbase hardtop off an earlier series 11 or 111, as I did with my 110 series. (See the thread 1969 onto 2010):)

No you couldn't. The tub on a 130 is wider than a 90/110.

I had considered cutting and shutting a series tub and hardtop for it but a lot of work for a smaller load area. I have seen one with a widened series hard top and tropical roof which turned out okay too. The good thing about having it as it is is the load doesn't collect dust as the high pressure air is forced from around the roof through the load area. Easy access to the load too.
