truck cab dimensions

Hi all

Just got a truck cab for a good price on ebay, and want to pick it up next week while travelling that way for work.

I might just get it in the back of my car if I separate the roof and back panel - saves lugging the trailer.

I know the roof section is about 1600mm across, but can someone get me a dimension the other way (front to back)? I'm guessing it's about 900mm.

Also, can anyone suggest how I explain why I need a truck cab, when the 3 complete (but not running) S1s in our yard already have hardtops? Hmm.

I could be wrong, but I think that in Series 1 the rear panel is fixed to the roof, unlike Series 2/3/90/110/Defender.

The length of the roof (which is the longest side of the triangle if you look at it from the side) is about 980- 1000 mm.

Roof Section 1600mmW x 980mm Front to back x about 240mm high at back end.
Back panel bolted to roof with nine bolts, 1560mmW x 670mm high with two returns to door tops of 220mm.

Just for the record, a dismantled S1 truck cab fits neatly in the back of a Toyota Prius (seats down).

I have both too, the wagon roof is good for long hauls to keep everything out of the weather, but not very easy removed with only one set of hands. However the truck cab is enough to keep you and other passengers dry and sunless, but if its a real beauty of a day then you take two 1/2" open-enders and enjoy it.

Start you conversation with the missus with "honey, you believe in diversity- don't you?".
