An Australian C-17 Globemaster touches down in Tarin Kot for the first time to resupply soldiers deployed with the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force-Two (MRTF-2).

They are huge beasties, I've seen them doing touch-and-go circuits at RAAF Richmond a few times.

Addit: Have never seen one over Tarin Point and don't know where to find Tarin Kot.

I wonder if Tarin is a common place name in Afghanistan? They also have another Tarin place name ... ...Tarin Kwot! :angel:

Thanks Juddy. I had a look around one of thopse at the AMberley air show. Bloody hiuge alright.

Mate of mine in the AFP was in the right place at the right time and got a flight on one.

Great asset for the RAAF, hopefully they may purchase a few more, i think the RAF have 8 now and all are heavily worked....
