02 Driveline vibration

Hi All

The search only seemed to bring up D2 issues.

My 02 Defender has developed a slight driveline vibration on deceleration or overrun.
It may be just noticable on accel also.

Any ideas?

Not sure but mine(also defender 02) has a slight vibration at around 60-65 k's on both acceleration and decel. that has only appeared after the suspension was lifted, i am hoping it is only a wheel balance as have already replaced the front prop as part of the small lift(45mm).

Start by checking the tyre condition and balance.
If that is ok,then check uni joints for not only play,but also check that they are not seized??? Then try removing one driveshaft at a time and then driving to see if the problem still occurs.
You also never said if you have had anything done to the vehicle lately,that may give a clue to the problem??

To add to Waynes suggestion...a vibration on my disco with similar symptoms was also accompanied by a clicking noise. One of the front uni joints was seized. Mind you it took ages to work out what the problem was. If I had removed the front tail shaft then it would have been obvious what the problem was.
