Whats amazing to me is that it works to start with! Photos are on the money too.

No surprise, the lens has been mounted to an adaptor plate which basically makes it the same as using a body cap. The camera will actually work without a lens attached (which is what is happening). Mind you geting the aperture and shutter just right would be fun with out a light meter handy.

Carlos, do a search on pin hole lenses for your camera. Something I've always wanted to play with but never got around to.

When I fit my contact-less macro tubes I effectively have the same thing. The camera doesn't worry about adjusting the aperture and seemed to manage the shutter speed to correct the exposure. It just works.
