Hey, a mate has a good 2ndhand set of BFG's A/T that he can sell to me. They are 225/75R16's, do you think they will fit without rubbing on a stock standard freebie? I have 16" rims. cheers

Perfect.
It may raise your ride height a touch.

Width is Ok - check height though, to ensure the tread does not rub on the suspension strut where the spring starts and the fronts on full lock. The overall diameter is substantially bigger than standard so you may notice less pulling power in first and reverse.

thanks guys - I will take 1 or 2 to the tyre place and ask them to fit them for me to check rubbing etc! Hope they fit, cause they still have over a year of tread left on them and for $100-$200 for 6 tyres it's a pretty good deal.

Just checked my car - as thought the springs hang out over the top of the tyre. On my half worn 225/70s there is about 3/4" space so newer 225/75s will go close to touching but then might just clear. You can only try one and see.

thanks Garry!
I'm taking one in tmro to have it checked out! If they dont fit I'll just have to keep on saving up for the smaller size tyres (225/70s)

I ran 225/75's for ages, still do on mates Disco and RRC and are fine.
