Tar knew that, just thought I would see who was paying attention :p

[QUOTE=stig0000;1340139]can i ask how much the arms and that prop sharft tool was:D

The pair of arms were 122.76 pounds and the tool was 15.97 pounds plus freight which wasn't cheap :( 154.26 pounds for the whole lots which I think weighted around 33kg all up in three packages.

Very excited :spudnikbackflip:

And Dan, love the name Pumasaurus :D but I am affraid he will alwalys be Sirius Black to us

See I'm getting to know Defenders a bit, that's a double cardan joint on the prop shaft to handle the extra lift.

BTW you got to open that package 0.5 seconds earlier tonight because I gave way to you in that tight side street at Red Hill around 6PM.

Yes it is a Double Cardan joint, mine has been running fine as it is but I am a big believer in having the best components you can in order to reduce possible breakage and there has been a few reports of this being a potential week spot in Pumas.

My wife and I wondered who it was in a F2 waiving to us :D Thanks for giving way :BigThumb::BigThumb: so very polite of you. Do you live in the area??

Nice:cool:

Is it just me or are those arms cranked at both ends in opposite directions?
Never see them done like that before.

Yes they are and I am yet to figure out why????? One thought It might be to deflect objects off the mount? I really don't know why, it might become more aparent when they are installed......

:confused:Did a bit of work today but unfortunatly the rain mafe progress slow.

Got the spacer blocks in on the rear sway bar. This is to bring the angle of the link arms back to where they were before lift. I think it made a difference  hard to say but the angles all look a lot nicer now.

And the second thing I got in on the rear was the Old Man Emu LTR shockies (Second hand - Thanks Jake:D). Now I know I can feel a difference with these. I think it will be even more noticeable when I get the front pair installed. I think I may still need to put something between the braided line and where it passes over the corner of the body work. It feel a bit tight there and I am not sure how much rubbing they can take??

Still got a bit to install but I am not sure how much time I'll get before the Fraser trip :( Oh well I have learnt not to rush these things.

Looking good John.

Where the braided hose is rubbing, get a piece of normal rubber hose, split it along its length then cable tie that around the braided hose.

Will solve the issue.

Last week I got the trailing arms installed. I can say when you hold the old and the new in each hand, I think the HD ones will take much more of a hiding!

The front shockies, turrets, relocating cones and spring retainers, went in today.
This all up took around 5 hrs (Thanks Rainman for helping!) not real hard but I wouldn't like to put the spring in by yourself unless you had something to hold the shocky up.
Much beefier shocky and turret.

Slight mod to get the remote in.

Only last bit of this kit to put on is the Double Cardon prop shaft. Tried to do it last weekend but ran into a problem with non compatible flange!!

But thanks to MR Automotive, :) I now have a new output flange for the transfer case that will match. I have no idea what went wrong with the ordering??? The web site description states for 07 Pumas TDCi engines?? I am still waiting to hear back from Devon re what went wrong? Oh well mistakes happen

Maybe next weekend to be installed......

Looks good John to answer your questions about why they are cranked the opposite way is at the diff mount the arms fail against the mount with long travel suspension. I actullay trimmed 5-10mm as my equipe arms are only cranked at the chassis end:(

JohnR

Thanks for that, thought it would be something along those lines. I havn't got extended shocks to test that with, yet ;) I'll see how these LTR's go.

Looking good. I had the LTR's on a Patrol and loved them, especially on corrugations.

Be great to see some photos of the flex when done. How much lift went in?

King Spring 2" which actually worked out to be around 28-29mm with all the extra junk on board :p

Flex wise I still need to figure a good way of dislocating the sway bars to get anything that makes you go  So still working on that.

JonhR. Mate think about removing the sway bar all together, I have a county lifted 3 inch and don't run any sway bars they handle fine with out and that is loaded as well.
