Relay location advice please

Hi all

I have relocated my air compressor (Thomas big red) into the box under my seat (1998 Defender).

Should the relay be mounted close to the battery or close to the air compressor? At peak load I think the compressor runs at about 30 amps max.

No difference really, just make sure the power feed via the relay is large enough all the way and a fuse is near the battery end. More imporant is to mount the relay terminals pointing down where it won't get water into it.
