D4 delivery delayed again

I ordered my D4 on the 24th May and was promised delivery in late September early October, after numerous follow up enquiries the date has changed several times since and is now a "possible" date in early January 2011. I have also had a new caravan built to fit with the origonal dates,it has arrived early with nowhere to go. I know you will say its all worth waiting for but I'm getting quite frustrated with it all and in hindsight wouldnt have bothered. I'm also interested if there is a 1st rate service agent close to Albury NSW as the local dealer is fast becoming a dealer with no creditability for sales / service.

if the cars not at the dealer, how is it the dealers fualt;), there are ALOT of things that can slow a car getting to a dealership,

I ordered my D4 28 April and it arrived in Australia Sept 3 and I received it late Sept, so your wait seems odd. I ordered it with a few options like rear e-diff so that was reason for the delay I believe.

Yes i understand your frustration. I see it daily.
I would take it as a guess that you have ordered a 3.0 HSE variant?
I also undertand from the factory that there has been a delay on all HSE variants-Worldwide.
If it is another variant, Then there has been delays, but admittantly not that long.
I ordered mine in Early Sept 09 & received it in mid March 10'.

It will be worth it, So go read the brochure again;)

Ordered my HSE in early May. Was told that I was "lucky" that LRA "Picked up the order" and slotted it into an August Build. Should be here end of next week I am told. Hope I really am lucky!!

Thanks Pete, but I'm waiting for a stock standard 2.7 White/Arabica Leather with gps / reversing camera. My main issue is the value of my trade in, a Ford Territory purchased from the same dealer 1 year ago and loosing $$$$ every day and as dealers go they just don't care.

What a pain! I purchased a white 2.7 with ebony leather at the end of July - it is on the boat now and due in at the dealers in about a month (mid November)

There lies the answer, This is why the delay.
It is mainly the Camera system's because of availability.
The manufacturer cannot supply enough to meet demand!!!

I promise the wait will be worth it....:angel:

p.s. an after thought, maybe approach the dealer about pre-trading & see if they can offer a vehicle for the time being:eek::eek:...Even a 2nd handy to run around in?

I am agree. I order the D4 2.7 with leather 7 seats, Hid, tow bar, e-diff (top!!!) and get the car with in 2 weeks. before that I was try to order a 3.0SE but been told have to waiting 3 months. :mad:

Hi guys, ordered my HSE end of May and told might be mid September but more than likely mid November which looks possible at this stage. I can only sit back and wait, and wait, and wait.......

I actually have the opposite problem, mine has arrived early! I ordered my D4SE back in June and was originally told December delivery so I ought I'd maybe have it early next year... About 6 weeks ago I was called and said it would be delivered early November which was great. They said they'd call me mid October to confirm the date. So I'd been pretty relaxed about selling my old car privately and have knocked back a few reasonable offers. Late last week I go my phone call and they tell me it's here and I can pick it up this week!! I'm excited, but also a little annoyed I wasn't given more notice so I could have sold my old car.

When you sell your car is your decision and not the responsibility of a dealer, apparently. with whom you decided to not trade.
