Are there any performance upgrades for the v6 4 litre motors; the price gap between diesel and non-diesel is widening and now has me looking at a v6 PETROL :(

Yes, but it will cost you about a grand and you will only gain about 20 horses and 40nm. Example here:

Land Rover, Range Rover ECU Remapping & chipping, performance tuning, economy tuning, Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots, Cambridge, Peterborough, Ely, Newmarket (http://www.jwe-automotive.co.uk/manufacturer_pages/land_rover.html)

If you're pulling anything more than a trailer of green waste
to the dump , forget the petrol. It's only able to pull its self.
360Nm and 160kw is marginal for its weight in IMO .
The ZF does its best , but there's only so much that can
be asked of a transmission in 2500kg with fuel and driver.......
I quite agree with you that the Company are stiffing buyers
for the oiler . No one's forced to part with their folding , are they ?

I'd disagree with the comment re towing green waste only.

My D3 has towed a 3t boat and a caravan quite comfortably**

The TDV6 does a much better job I'll grant you that but the V6 is hardly underpowered.

An extra 40nm of torque wouldn't be bad tho :D

** Not at the same time of course!
