Storing gearbox

Hi All,
Just looking for some advice on storing a gearbox for a fair while (till someone buys it). I am thinking of giving a good clean then wrapping it in plastic but i want to know if there is anything else i should do to make sure it won't have anything perish.

clean it oil it and wrap it up then box it or put it somewhere out of the sun.
