I had one panel replaced under warranty about 2 years ago. New panel has done the same thing (the one in the centre console - the speedo one has been fine).

Reckon it's a BMW conspiracy :(

It is / was a pretty common fault. Plenty replaced under warranty.

Spudboy, I even seem to recall doing a claim on yours for the same thing.

I have a new cable on its way, I’ll update once installed.

Range Rover dead pixel repair DIY instrument cluster LCD, MID, radio unit. (http://pixelfix.net/eng/rover.html)

I’ve read that contact cleaner can cure the problem temporarily. Now mine varies in how bad it is so the cable theory sits well – if it was the screen it wouldn’t come and go…

I'll be interested to see if this fixes it for you. Mine look like the pixels are completely off though, not faded like in the web link you posted.

I saw a whole unit on eBay (display and CD player) for $25 about a month after LR had replaced mine, and I am kicking myself as I SHOULD have bought it as a backup. There I was thinking that the replacement unit was going to fix things permanently....

had both pixel displays on my l322 repaired by Southern Landrover (Cannington perth WA) all perfect.
Have not got itemised account, as other work was also done (Airbag control) and some other minor adjustments. Total cost $1150.
Very happy.

I found the mob below on the net - I am putting up with my missing pixels for a bit longer. If anyone else uses this mob I would be interested to know if they do a good job.
