Hi guysngals...

Well after finally freeing the bulkhead, removing engine/gearbox/transfer case-in-one I had a fun time removing the springs. Easier than I thought it would be, as I had covered the nuts and bolts securing the springs with lanolin over the past few months.

Any-hoo, the chassis was not too bad apart from the usual rust in the two front spring hangers and rear crossmember.

Unfortuately the gearbox crossmember had taken a hard hit sometime in its life and the best way to fix (advice from my panel beater) was to replace it.

I have sourced a bolt in replacement one from Richards Chassis in the UK, total price 150 pounds. Other bits and pieces I have ordered from Melbourne.

After getting all the bits welded on I hope to get the chassis sand blasted before zinc and finally powder coating as i have been advised that this is a bettter coating as well as being about the same coast as paint.

If I had costed all the things at the beginning, I would have probably ordered a gal chasis from the UK for a total of $2000!

Sorry there are no pics, I'll try that next time or maybe I'll start with re-assembly of this one.

Cheers:)
