View Full Version : RHS Blinker always on

Hi,
My RHS blinker always stays on and other drivers are starting to get annoyed:o
So i have tracked it down to Pin4 on the BeCM outputting power even when car is off. Likely a power transistor failure.
For those interested these 2 sites are useful.
Demystifying the BeCM (http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/becm/index.html)
P38 Range Rover Becm Connector Plug Pin Out Information-P38 Range Rover Electrical Common faults and Fixes (http://www.p38rangerover.com/becm-connectors.html#C113)
Options:
Replace - MOSFETS 5 pin power transistors, Part numbers are BUK202 50Y (20 amp rating) and BUK203 50Y (4 amp rating) but struggling to find where i can get these from and not sure which amperage controls the RHS blinker?
Ron have you any ideas from your electronics world or anyone else?
Replace - whole power board in BeCM? Anyone got a spare. Andy do you have anything lying around at a reasonable price? PM me if you do please.
Cheers,
Remy

Just out of curiosity, and not meaning to be a dick, but have you tried replacing the globes??? I had a heap of problems with my indicators and headlights etc. My indicators were slowing down, speeding up, kept blowing one headlight, all sorts of junk. I replaced every globe in the front end and it all works like a dream, haven't had an issue since.
Just something to think about before swapping the BECM...
Cheers,
Keels.

Thanks Keels - Yes!
The BeCM shouldn't have power coming from this pin when the ignition is off. It doesn't for the LHS blinker. Tested with a test light and power is definately active so transistor looks like the fault. That doesn't bother me and i can get around it with relays etc but would prefer to do the job once and correctly.
Thanks for your comments,
Cheers,
Remy

I had placed an order for 100 of these a while back. They never arrived.
Which reminds me, I had also agreed to buy some from a bloke on RRNET but I never heard back about them. He had supposedly bought them based on some of us saying we'd take them.

No problems if they have them and Ron as well maybe some for Paul in case he want them on HRA. My gut tells me they won't have them but wait and see.

Guys - I'm not an electronics expert but I can see value in this as a service to other P38 owners... if you identify the components you need and can locate a supplier, I'll happily approach them to see what kind of discount HRA can get and pass it on to you.
Cheers, Paul.

Yep. The reason I ordered 100 was to be able to provide them to others. It was a while back.

No problem Remy... A HTFU sticker will be coming to you shortly. We also have the offensive one, but that is quite understandably in limited demand... you are welcome to one of those to put somewhere out of view from the little ones.
My son was the first person to take a "Harden The ___ Up" sticker from me and then put it on his Barina :o
PM your mailing details or via info@hardrange.com
Of course we prefer to give them away as part of orders :p but they are free to our mates here.
Cheers, Paul.
