Where to mount switches?

Hi,

I've got a few switches I'd like to mount to control things like my air compressor, work lights, car-pc etc etc.

Any suggestions on where and \ or how to do this?

I've gone to Jaycar and bought one of their small plastic boxes which I'm currently thinking of mounting in the center console. This would mean I'd need to open the lid to get to the switches but I'm unlikely to need to get to them while driving.

I'm not keen on having the switches visible unless they look 'professional-ish'. I've already got a Electronic Brake Controller mounted under the A\C controls so there isn't much room lef there.

Anyone got any other bright ideas?

It's pretty easy to run wiring to the overhead console/courtesy light maybe that could be an option.

I have three switches for flashing lights, work light and revers beeper
mounted in the cover behind the hand brake switch.

Consider mounting them inside the upper glove box if it isn't already full of other stuff and if you don't have to access them frequently or while driving.

Edit: It is also relatively easy to get wiring into this area from the centre console.

Check out this website. I used this holder for my mobile phone. You may be able to use the bracket only, and work of that.
Good thing about it is there is no drilling into dash etc.

I've already got one of those holders to hold my iphone.

I've actually got a spare too so you've given me another posibiltiy to try. Thanks!

I decided against the top glove box as I currently keep a fair bit of stuff in there including a hard drive and usb hub for the car pc.

Another option is the panel below the steering wheel, it is a honeycomb design & i have mounted my RedArc trailer brakes into the honeycomb.

You just need to die-grind the plastic section behind the front side to gain access, but in the end it looks very good.
