The 101 has a hefty roll bar on the front axle that must limit wheel articulation a fair bit when offroad.

Ron has taken his off completely and I know that there does not seem to be any difference when driving the vehicle onroad.

Has anyone else removed their roll bar from their 101 and what are your thoughts.

Thanks

Garry

They certainly do limit articulation and give a stiffer ride on single wheel bumps. A few years ago whilst testing a pair of difflocks I made for a friends 101 we were trying to drive through a deep mud hole that on most vehicles gets the suspension articulating pretty well. My modified series 2 with locks disengaged just waddled through but the 101 with both locks engaged and new Silverstone MT117 tyres just could not be persuaded to go through until we disconnected the anti roll bar.

You get two spare steering ball joints when you remove the front sway bar.
Only if I had a ambulance or top heavy camper would I leave it connected.
lack of flex is the 101 greatest enemy.
