Hi Folks,
Having had my High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) replaced on FOUR occasions, I thought you might be interested in this.
Today I received a notice from Land Rover Australia on "Safety Recall P021" - which was completed on my car from Tuesday - Thursday this week. The dealer service rep tells me this is a replacement from Safety Recall P008.
Details are same as for P008 - "... your vehicle may experience poor engine performance, fuel smell, engine noise, a fuel leak onto the rear of the engine or fuel leak onto the ground as a result of the front seal failing due to poor lubrication and excessive wear of the high pressure fuel pump bearing."
It goes on to say "... this issue is more likely to occur when the air temperature is high and/or poor quality fuel is used."
Since having the HPFP replaced as a part of P021 on Tuesday to Thursday this week - my motor is a lot quieter. :D
Cheers,
Rob
