How "snappy" are these auto boxes? Mine seems a little lagging of the mark but fine when running. Is this normal? Jim

What year? How many KMs?

LR said they were "sealed for life" but it turns out this is not the case.

I had mine oil/filter changed at 125,000Km and what came out was reasonably black. After new oil and filter it has a nicer change. The cost was around $300-odd from memory as they put in one lot of oil, ran it for a little while, dropped that and filled it a 2nd time with clean oil.

Mine was 'juddering' slightly at idle, and the oil change has helped this.

I have just purchased the R.R.with 129K on the clock. However the box has been completely rebuilt not long ago. I have the documentation of the rebuild. It's just slow to come in when accelerator depressed. However I am used to driving a manual (Defender) so it may be normal

Well - I would say they are an extremely quick off the mark vehicle. At the traffic lights, not much can beat me if I floor it (3.0L Diesel). It is WAY quicker off the mark than any other LR I have had. Is this what you are thinking of when you say "slow to come in"?

Mines like that,it revs like a petrol.Quite amazing for a 2.5 vehicle. Pat

Spudboy. Maybe I am not putting the right foot down hard enough to kick the box down. But as you said, if you do it GOES!!

PAT303. Transmission was removed, stripped and fully rebuilt. Total cost including labour was $5,000. Oil used is Dexron 6

Thats what I was quoted. You must also remember that the throttle is adaptive,eg it will give light throttle openings if you dawdle around, give it a stab and it changes to a more aggresive mode. Pat
