Well my coils arrived the other day, custom made 3 inch ultra flexi coil, they are made abit different to the flexi coil. My bump stop clearance is sitting at 6inch in the front and 8 in the rear , I have only gone for a quick drive as I am finishing off mounting a water 2 air intercooler, but it was a nice ride. A couple of photo's before and after.

Yes they are different to my +2" ultra flexi coils, which are progressive.Basically the same as Sam has in DEF-90,except of course the 110 rear springs are larger diameter. Will have to measure my bumpstop clearances.

Hi guys sorry for the delay in reply.

stig0000, no they are not the same price, they where $600, custom 3 inch.

Lowranger, they will be as your coils are flexi coils not ultra flexi coils, the differance is yours are a progresive rate coil and the turns are spaced closer together at the end and stack on top of each other, the ultra flexi coils are ground thinner in the end but same spacing, the last couple of coils stack on top just the same but they can achieve a higher free height this way.

allan, what can I say, gotta love the county.

cucinadio, not sure what you mean, (how the entrance now??......)

discowhite, hi mate the free lenghts are 530 rear and 500 front, not sure of the rates, as others have posted it is hard to get the info out of them but I can say they are bloody good man, they lifted and are a really good ride and still compress really well and due to the ground ends thay open up really well. I have 150 bump stop clearance at the front and I think it was 180 in the rear and it was such a good ride.

Nice work Lambrover any pics of front wheel travel? also you mentioned you dont know the coil spring rates, I assuming you are running an Isuzu engine 3.9L? would you happen to Know the weight of the engine?

do you have a measurment of the front loaded spring (sitting on level ground measuring from the baseto the top of the spring)?.

Cheers

I just measured my bumpstop clearance on my 110,and have 150mm F&R,and mine is only supposed to be +2".

hally, thanks mate. I do have the 3.9 Isuzu and I think they are about 380kg, the spring height loaded is 365mm and 500mm free height.

LowRanger, ha that sounds good for a two inch lift man.

I surpose it depends on what you use as standard heights and where you measure from, On the front I measure from the rear side of the mount on the axle housing as this would be the first part to touch due to the slope.

Have you got longer bump stops in the rear, because if I had 150 in the rear it would look like it was dragging it's bum. Do you remember what the free heights of the coils where. Cheers Wayne.

Cheers for the info Lambrover I just measured mine bloody hell  it was a 2" lift and it now measures 310mm loaded think ill be ordering a set very soon:twisted:

I took it put but got no photos sorry mate, it flexes like I wanted I was worried about loosing up travel due to being to stiff but they have done a bloody good job and lost no up travel even thought I have gained height so very happy. I need to retain the rear coils then I will post pics

Funny, because mine sits level with the bumpstop clearances as it is.And I also measured from the closest point of contact.
I can't remember what the free height of the coils were anymore, and my bumpstops are standard height.I have replaced upper shock mounts F&R to allow me to keep my standard bumpstops.

Ha man that is wierd, Hally asked for the loaded spring heights of mine so this might help, from an earlier post I have got 365mm loaded spring height.

If it comes up similar heights they may have not allowed for all my extras on the car, I would love to see a rear compression photo, how much tuck the wheel gets.

How long you had your coils for, you did a post from memory and it looked quite high.

I ordered them quite a few months ago,but it took over 2 months for me to get them:mad: But that is another story.
I only got them fitted in September, had them sitting around, but work commitments kept me from finding the time to fit them.

I will try over the next couple of days to get a pic of the rear flexed.Only prob I have is that with my standard wheels on,that I use everyday, the tyre rubs on the rear spring tower on articulation.

Hey Lambrover I will hopefully have the week from xmas through to new years off would be very keen for a glasshouse run might give Def90 a buzz see if he's keen.

Do you have part numbers of the springs you ordered I would like to get my hands on a set asap:twisted: and how long did they take to get?

Managed to take a few pics of the suspension this afternoon after work. There is nowhere around here close to test the suspension,so I had to manage as best I could. The suspension is nowhere near its maximum drop or compression, but I had nothing else handy to test it with. The first spring picture is of the L/H rear, and still have quite a lot of compression left. The second spring picture is of the R/H rear, and shows there is a lot of drop left, spring is still connected.

Some more pics from this afternoon. The first spring picture is of the R/H front, showing a lot of compression left, but body is sitting flat despite the flex, and that is what I was looking for when trying to set up the suspension. The second picture is of the L/H front, flexing a little, again nowhere near max flex.

LowRanger, that looks good man, must be happy with how level it sits. Sorry no flex pics yet, I will be getting some tomorrow.

Hally, the part numbers, front: C70-296VT
rear: C70-297VT

I will be down that way then so I will try and keep it open for a run, I am going to cruiser park from the 1st to the 3rd, then going to Mt Binna Burra from the 5th to the 8th then we are hanging around I don't need to be back in Townsville untill the 20th, I would be keen for a run with some locals.

Just as a side note - keep an eye on your uni-joint angles with the added movement. You might find them binding at some angles

Cheers
Chris

P.S - if you're working for Al Stephenson up there tell him he's a big poof and to buy a Landrover! :)

:)

That is why I only went for +2" lift, just enough to clear 35's.I already have wide spaced uni's in the rear.
But with 8" of bumpstop clearance, lambrover will go close I think.

lambrover, have you cycled your suspension to check if your bumpstops work, before your shocks bottom out?You suspension travel looks very similar to mine, just judging on the pics.

Still the original radius arms and genuine bushes, would get better articulation with holey bushes.

scotyp, I have standard radius arms but I have slotted swivel hubs.

hally, It took awhile, I ordered mine on the 22/9/10 and they arrived about the 12/11/10, they had trouble making the rear set they broke three sets during testing so it took awhile to get it right. You just want the fronts any way, they had no problems with those ones, apparently I was the ginny pig so all should be right to go now.
