Hi Guys and Gals

Since I meet my wife she has had this burning desire to be a teacher....she became a hairdresser after leaving school, really to please her parents... we meet just as she was finishing her apprenticeship.

We meet for lunch on the day she was signed off and instead of jumping with joy in finishing, she was in tears!!..... after a long talk she expressed that she really hated what she was doing and couldn't see herself doing this for the rest of her life!!.... without thought of day to day living ... I said to her if thats what you really want to do then let get it done !!, she quite that afternoon..... after getting married, a couple of kids and doing a few diplomas, whilst working in the child care field she was scouted...and was offered a job at one of the most prestiges girls schools in the country... she worked in their prep school for another fours years and enjoyed every minute of her time there..... when the public system moved to introduce the prep year she decided that now was the time to move to do her Bach of Education, Griffith uni was choked with school leaving applicants so we decided that we would move to Hervey bay to allow her to attend USQ......

She started her Bachelor and after the end of the first year was named dux of her USQ cohort and was awarded a scholarship for her efforts.... she has just plodded along under the radar for the last few years and with my own unfortunate issues things haven't been easy but she just get on and gets it done .... the other week out of the blue she gets and invitation to join what is called the Golden Key Society... which is as follows

"The Golden Key Society is the world’s premier collegiate honor society, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and connecting high-achieving individuals locally, regionally & globally with lifetime opportunity, reward & success. Membership is by invitation only."

All I can say to her, as I have is, I'm so proud of her that it brings a tear to my eye!!!....

just thought I would share the fact with my extended friends of AULRO

cheers

As one whose missus did something similar decades ago, I share your pride :BigThumb:
May you too, when the time comes, have her support you in the manner to which you have always wanted to become accustomed ...and free to tinker with your LR most days...:p:wasntme::angel:

Good work, Stacey did the same for me when I decided teaching wasnt something I saw myself doing for the rest of my life so I started the course to become a police officer and now im 12 months in and out of my probation.

Sometimes you just have to do what has to be done, nothing worse than turning up to a job you hate every day.

Congrats.

That is where it is at mate, through thick and thin, observing the dreams of the other and helping it become a reality.
you lucky pair you have it all, money cannot replace what you have.
Congrats to you both for the triumph over lifes **** hill

Well done, thanks for sharing your story.
It's great to follow your dreams, I'm sure there was a bit of pain in there but a whole lot less than stuck where you don't want to be.
