Anyone have experience taking the centre dash panel off a Puma???

Got the radio out OK and the manual says to remove the 2 screws and then pull out......sure there are some clips but don't want to break them. Was giving a decent tug but didn't budge.

Any secrets or just more brute force??????

Don't you love the way manuals make it sound so simple?

If they'd also written "with some force" you'd have it out by now :D.

I've done it once.

I can't remember having much trouble removing ours. There were 2 of us, one on each side.

bit more muscle and a plastic lever did the deed. For anyone else here is a pic of the back of the section so you can see where the clips are

Care is needed when replacing the panel to amke sure all of the clips line up, especially the middle ones as there is a bit of flexing needed to make sure the top and middle ones are lined up at the same time.

I bought a paint tin lid remover at my local paint wholesaler. Works a treat for prising the dash off. You can do one clip at a time. I just put a thin rag over it so that it doesn't scratch the dash.

Would anyone know if the little metal clips have a separate part number or are they included with the panel and therefore would need to order a new panel to get the clips?
The microcat for Defender 2007+ identifies fixings for the centre panel but look like it uses screws/bolts and plastic nuts. I'm assuming there was a change from the 2.4 Puma to 2.2 Puma to using the metal clips.

Thanks for any help.
