Prawns into Adelaide

Gday All,

Sorry for the delay, but tried to get a better freight deal but with the fuel excise is the deciding price factor..

The product will go to the Gilberts transport depot, in Cavan.( am told this is near the CBD

I need a minimum order of 8x9kg cartons and sent as 1 consignment for this to work..

Tiger Prawns...
Under 8 (8 or less per pound)..1.5kg box =$43 our premium prawn & our largest by far..

10/15...(10/15 per pound).....3kg box =$55. A noticable size difference to the u/8 but still a good prawn size

Endeavour Prawns..These are direct competition to king & Banana prawns
Under 15...(15 or less per pound)...3kg box =$53

15/25...(15/25 prawns per pound)....3kg box =$43 This is a good medium size prawn..

I am more after an idea of interest, and when you compare prawn prices make sure you compare the size grade's (count per pound) as this is standard across all prawn industry's..

I would look at closing the orders on friday 3rd Dec to send the following week and to have in Adelaide by around 10th Dec..

This is $1 per box more than my prices last year..
I will post payment details etc next week or closer to shut off day..

Getting a list together over the next couple of days.

Do you need someone to pick them up from Cavan? I work in the city & live in the NE burbs if it helps.

For this to work I need to send it down consigned to 1 person..You guys need to work out between you, a day to meet somewhere near the coldstore and when the person picks them up, you all meet up straight after and devide up the order..

The boxes will be clearly marked so it will be easy to work out who's is who's.

the WA guys have this sorted and seem to have no problems..

I am charged $71 for every consignment this is why it has to come down all together..

Just a little :) The joys of living right on the gulf and some of the best fishing around :angel: We all love our seafood.


Basil, I'll be driving down to collect our order so can meet you at the depot... Unless Ean can convince the truck company to deliver to Port Augusta (they have to go through there anyway). Then I could pick up only 30 minutes from home ;)

Considering that Mike has a large order, compared to mine ( looking at 14 boxes so far) I am happy to make a trip up to your place on Friday to collect if they can drop at Port Agutta.

If there are any other SA orders, I am happy to bring them to town too, and people can collect from me in the CBD.

Speaking for myself, probably best if we keep it as arranged, on this weeks truck.

Only due to people coming & going on leave, making it difficult to change plans at this point.

However, if it works better for Toombie, then I can probably accommodate him.

All ctns are labeled with whats inside..

It will depart on tuesdays Gilberts truck to Adelaide..I will ring them again on Mon Morn and see if I can convince them to stop in PT Augusta, but doubt it.

Will consign it to Tombie 2 and will PM him the Con-note details when I have them.

Drove to Adelaide today and met with Basil and Peter (my dad) and grabbed our feast!

18 ctns sorted and packed into vehicles (13 in mine) and off back to Whyalla.

13 hours and 800kms later all those yummy Prawns are delivered!

From all accounts, the prawns were the best.

Everyone that I delivered to were impressed with the size & quality.

It was great to catch up with Tombie again, even if it was quickly.

There is certainly a market for more next year.
