solar and a battery charger

Hi guys

Just asking to see if there are any issues using a solar panel and a 5a battery charger at the same time? I have the sollar connected to the aux battery on the boat and the charger to the crank. Batteries are connected together using an sc40 nothing else. Opinions would be welcomed!

Cant see any major problems but once the cranking bat reaches the cut out level it will close and both batteries will be connected after that you will only need the solar to keep them topped up:)
