Hey guys and girls,

Was looking through the defender today [being doing a bunch of maintenance on it recently] and came across this mini tool kit, has a 10/13mm spanner, 1/2" and.... 5/8" or maybe 11/16" spanner, something that looks like a spark plug remover and these two plugs....

Does anyone know what the plugs are for???
Also what the other thing that looks like a spark plug remover is for?

Thanks in advance,
Saiken

Not sure about the Td5, but on the 300Tdi there are two wading plug holes that are about that size.

Yep, one in the bell housing, and the other is up near the timing cover in a 300Tdi.

i was curious about it cause i know in the 300i you had them, but with a TD5 we dont have one in the timing cover from what i know as its chain driven.... because of this i was confused why there was 2 in the kit.

ok from what i've read so far the TD5 has zero wading plugs, ie. bell housing ones are in permanent and there is non for the timing chain.... [duhhh! it would loose all of its oil.]

So if their for the swivel pins...... where are they located =\..... guessing on the swivel housing somewhere...

It seems the toolkit is a standard one for the TD5/TDi/V8.... as such the spark plug spanner is well.... a spark plug spanner for the V8's.
