Has anybody come across these 15"rims before? .They're well constructed and run true, suggesting they're not a one off backyard job. The tyres are
Good Year G800 Grand Rally ER70 H15 radial. Thank you.

Btw The vehicle came from the Ipswich area.

One would suggest they are not legal having a seam around the pressed centre and the stud penetration into the nut is insufficient.

Could we please stick to the original question.

taking one look at them i would say they are a one off......

to answer your question i have never seen this type of rims before i.e production OEM

however as an apprentice i did make up similar rims to the above but had to drill two bolt patterns so they could be used on differant hubs

Most certainly a one off and most certainly illegal for road use.

It certainly looks like someone has just taken a rim from another vehicle, cut out the centre, welded a plate in place and drilled holes to match the landrover. Never seen them before but it is possible there are some identifying marks on the back. Any marks may have been cut out with the centre though.
Makes for a pretty ugly wheel :) (though I suppose that comment is off topic too).

The Poster did stick to the original question
No they are not original
Yes they are back yard bodge jobs "he could weld a little"
Land Rover most probably never made a 15" car wheel
Yes they are highly illegal / dangerous welding on a pressed centre
Look daggy, and not a full stud through the nut.
Thats only my opinion......

Landrover fitted 15" rims to NAS (US) vehicles. However they looked like a normal 16" rim.
They also fitted 15x8(?) sunraysia type rims to the "Game" model S3.
The rims in question are illegal mainly because they have more than one circumferential weld. The engagement of the nuts isn't much worse than standard.

1) ? Do I know or care??? Most likely - everything seems to find its way everywhere.
2) They were still the OEM spec wheel :p
p.s. - landrover didn't make any wheels themself. Most were made by dunlop or ROH for land rover. Sunraysia are just another wheel manufacturer like ROH or dunlop.

"my 66 2A has 15's""
But they aren’t the right wheel for a S2 either.
The steel cantered wheel like in the first pic are not that uncommon in country areas, same as galvanised rims.
Yes they are home made, as the Land Rover stud pattern was once used on every second bit of farm machinery and some tractor front axels, thus lots of funny wheels have this pattern.
For many years all NSW Bushfire Brigade pump trailers had land rover wheels many if not all where galvanised.

Actually 15'' rims were available as a factory option.See excerpts from Parts Catalogue No. 4187 from the early 60s, and Land Rover Salesman's manual Pub. no 608 Jan.1962.
