On-board air with York compressor in 300Tdi

After reading up and down this forum, I am going to do it. I got my hands on a Sanden SD7 aircon pump, but because it is a wobbly plate it wont work:confused: The SD5 is the one to use, it has a swach plate. Not sure why the one work and the other not

Unexpectadly I had a York type compressor falling into my lap. This one is better because it has its own sump. I need to drive relatively far to fetch it.

My question is: On the 300 Tdi, without an aircon fitted, will that York fit?
Does anybody on this forum have a York endles air on a 300 Tdi?
Dimention of the York is about
Height 270mm
length 200mm
width 150mm
I will be building a mockup tonight, but I would appreciate if somebody with first hand experience can advise

I tried a mock up last night, unless you make a hole in the bonnet, or fit a bulge it will not go. I also had a look at the rest of the bay to see if we can make it fit somewhere else, but for that trouble rather modify a Sanden

you will need to cut a hole in the bonnet to accomodate the height!!

I have done it very successfully on 200tdi's, but it just wont fit on the 300tdi.

You can disect and plug up one of the internal oil paths to lay it on a bit of an angle, but not on its side.

For what its worth, the sanden comp's arent bad as an air compressor but if you want reliability you need to go to endless air and get one of their modified units.

They will last forever if installed correctly.

Make sure you release the pressure in the tank supply feed when the pressure switch cuts out, dont over grease them, and make sure that vibrations from corrugated roads dont force the pressure switch to stay open/on.
