Hi Guys,
Backyard Productions, the company behind 4wd TV and YOUR4X4, has a vacancy for a full time staff member:
The position involves working weekdays at our Brunswick West full time edit suite and the odd weekend of local, interstate and overseas event coverage. Full training will be offered in all areas of TV production and the primary role will be editing and camera work of our two weekly TV shows and other corporate productions. Office hours are 8am till 4pm.
The position will suit a young, fit and agile individual with a passion for 4wdriving, the outdoors and computers. An interest in film or photography would also be beneficial.
All applications (including a cover letter and CV) should be forwarded directly to: simon@4wdtv.com.au
Over the summer period we are offering work experience positions to interested applicants who will also be considered along with the above applicants for the full time position which will start early 2011.
This is a great opportunity for a young motivated individual to combine their passion for 4wdriving with their paid weekly work. You will be working with Australia’s leading 4wd companies, be present at the best 4wd events and have access to the best equipment and discounts the 4wd industry has to offer.
Please contact Simon immediately for further details.
Regards,
Danny Sparks-Cousins

I don't like the "Young" bit. It tends to forbid all of us older mature gentle men and ladies.
Equal opportunities commission should be notified as it discriminates against us oldies:p :p:p:p:p:p

Maybe they just don't like old people :wasntme:
It's their company, their choice who they employ, it's not the puplic service and it doesn't have to be fair

The posting is also substantially SPAM. djc123 has posted only one message on the forum and it is a 'free' positions vacant classified. OK, so it may be of interest to forum members, but it is also a free leg up to some one who has not shown interest in, nor supported the forum, before. It also shouldn't be in the General Chat, there is a place for classifieds. I think the mods should delete it.
Cheers

:)Talk about egg on ya face . A simple welcome and perhaps direction to the right place would have been nicer...forgetting the fact they are a sponsor....and quite clearly a sponsor with the banner adds and have had AULRO on quite a few programs.
The main spammers that come here tend to want to make my wang bigger ;)......not offer a great job. Wishing it was here in QLD,
regards
Stevo

Hi Guys,
The application mentions that the position would suit a young, agile, person with an interest in 4wdriving, the outdoors, film, photography and computers.
We are not interested in discriminating or ruling any one out, we are simply being honest as to who the position will suit in our experience. That said we are open to any applicant with the enthusiasm to be a part of the team and who can bring the required skills or a combination of skills that show enough promise to cope with the position and training.
We look forward to your application, although you had better be quick as the response from the past 10 hours has been staggering. So thanks to all who have applied.
If I have posted this to the wrong place please feel free to politely let me know.
Kind Regards,
Danny

No point in discriminating, accidents happen. There was a Cameraman filming a 4WD film clip injured at Coopers Creek a week ago. His camera tripod was falling over, he went to grab it, slipped and hit his head on a rock and knocked himself out.

Crikey KarlB, have a heart. Perhaps I'm naive or something, but I take people at face value. If I was unsure about the 'correct' place to post a thread I'd post it in the general forum and trust to the experts to move it elsewhere if neccessary. Have we got so 'politically correct' that we've lost sight of common sense ? I'm glad that I'm naive, dumb or generally give people the benefit of the doubt because I think the alternative is worse.

G'day Danny,
Cheers for the offer, but I'm otherwise employed for the moment :(,, having said that, I class myself as being reasonably fit, but there's no way I'd be lugging cameras in through the bush like you guys do,,
But it'd certainly be a lifestyle kinda job,, good luck to whoever gets it,,

do not really see that as being anybodies business tbh!.
not sure why people do not see this ad at face value, it is a job with a production company offering the chance to work with thier show.
if you think you can climb hills all day, chasing rock buggies around a course or eat too many snags at a gathering apply for the role instead of complaining about the wording of the ad.
if your interested "put up or shut up....:p"

I could do that,
I think the money question was answered with "This is a great opportunity for a young motivated individual to combine their passion for 4wdriving with their paid weekly work"
