View Full Version : Going Down?

It maybe just me but I swear that the drivers seat in my D3 SE lowers a bit between drives.
This is the seat with the pump handle not the electric ones.
The Disco is not a daily driver & may not move for a couple of weeks and sometimes when I get in I just feel lower so I give the seat 2 or 3 pumps & it feels just right again. With all these 2 or 3 pumps over 14 months of ownership I have never reached the top of the seats height travel so it must lower at some stage.
Both the wife & I are built with the top of our legs close to the ground (5'1" & 5'6") and we both like to sit high & upright so neither of us ever lower the seat.
How does the seat height adjustment work? Is it hydraulic, air or other? Could it get a leak? Where? Would it leak oil?
Is it common for the seats to lower a bit over a week or 2 with no one sitting in them? Could it be because we don't us the seat/car enough (the Disco's Revenge).
Or am I just getting older & shorter? Just going mad or shrunk in the wet?
Any advice would be great.

this fault with seats is the most common of all common faults with a d3, and there is no fault, what it is that when you get out the car you roll over the handle and it moves it down the slightest bit, so next time you get in the car it seems lower, and the more you get in and out the worse it gets, :D:D

and i no exactly youl say you dont hit ya bum on the leaver when you get in/out so to prove to customers we brace the handle so it cant move at all, 2 weeks later they come back saying well yer,, the seat hasent moved:D

Originally, LR were replacing the manual base with an electric base but now there's a fix for the manual seat base.
Contact your dealer & quote LTB00330 if they know nothing about it.
